Hexafluoropropene, Perfluoropropene, HFP
R1216 (Hexafluoropropene, HFP) is a low-GWP perfluorinated olefin (C3F6). Non-flammable, ODP zero and GWP <1. Used as a flame-retardant / toxicity-reducing component in refrigerant blends (with R32, R152a, R290) and as a monomer for fluoropolymers (FEP/EFEP) and plasma etching gas.

R1216 is non-flammable but exhibits mild chronic toxicity (harmful by inhalation, respiratory irritant); ensure ventilation and PPE. ASHRAE 34 toxicity classification is not yet completed. As a PFC its atmospheric lifetime is short (~5.5 days) with very low GWP. Handle per applicable safety and environmental regulations.
| Storage & Transportation | Store in a cool, well-ventilated warehouse away from fire and heat; temperature not above 52℃. Keep separated from oxidizers. Ensure workplace ventilation to avoid high-concentration inhalation; wear appropriate respiratory protection when handling. Inspect cylinders periodically and handle gently. |
